Create your own Watts Towers using a variety of interesting and fun materials to represent the tiles, shells, glass, and wire that Simon Rodia used to create the real Watts Towers!
Materials Needed
1. Pipe cleaners
2. Mosaic tile pieces
3. Wood & plastic shapes
4. Assorted beads
6. Foam blocks
7. Tacky glue
Directions
1. Add beads to each pipe cleaner. Twist two pipe cleaners together to make stronger legs for your towers.
2. Stick the pipe cleaners into the foam block. Towers can have a triangular or square base. Gather the pipe cleaners at the top and secure them with a bead.
3. Add pipe cleaners in a zig zag pattern to add support for your tower.
4. Glue the tile pieces, wood shapes, and plastic shapes to the sides of the foam block using tacky glue.
