Community Sensory Bin

Updated: Jan 20, 2021

Learning about community and family can be a fun and hands-on experience when using the Community Sensory Bin. By combining water cubes and family counters (figures shaped like different people and pets in the community), young learners can spend hours exploring the sensory bin and learning about their own community!

Community Sensory Bin

Focus:

  • Community

  • Family

Materials Needed:

  • Large plastic sensory tub

  • Water Cube Jelly Crystals

  • All About Me Family Counters

  • Child-Friendly Knife

The All About Me Family Counters are soft, rubbery figures that are pleasant to touch and fun to play with. It promotes math and social studies learning opportunities and is a perfect tool to help young children learn about themselves and their families. The Water Cube Jelly Crystals are very easy to set up (just add water) and a great way to make the connection between math and science while observing and feeling the geometric shapes. Combining these two toys together creates a truly unique experience and we highly recommend utilizing the Community Sensory Bin whenever you are teaching about the community!
